The Imran Jaffer Foundation JLL Summer Internship will celebrate and recognize a student who shares similar qualities, values and interests to Imran, and will help them pursue their dreams and aspirations towards a fulfilling career in commercial real estate.
The Imran Jaffer Foundation JLL Summer Internship was established in collaboration with Jones Lang LaSalle in memory of Imran Jaffer who had successfully completed a summer internship at JLL. The objective of this Internship is to provide an opportunity for a third year student at Western University enrolled in the Urban Development Program or the Richard Ivey School of Business with an interest in real estate services. This paid Internship will commence in the summer of 2016 and will initially be based in Toronto.

Position: Summer Associate, Research Analyst
Term: May – August 2016
Location: JLL’s GTA Offices (rotation)
The Imran Jaffer Foundation and JLL are accepting applications for the position of Summer Associate, Research Analyst. Under the supervision of a dedicated JLL-Western Internship Liaison, the incumbent will perform a range of administrative and research functions within the JLL platform. As part of our team, the student will be responsible for tracking and analyzing all aspects of the local commercial real estate market and leveraging that knowledge proactively for research projects and business development efforts.
The term of the employment would be four (4) months commencing in early May. The hours of work are Monday to Friday, from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm.
The incumbent must be a current student who has completed three years of University education and must be returning to full-time student status in the fall to apply. Enrollment in a business administration, urban development and planning, or geography program would be required.

The primary business needs for this position are to:
- Provide research and advisory support for current initiatives
- Provide research to inform decisions about specific assets
- Gather information to prepare reports about portfolios and assets
- Provide administration and project management support for realty rationalization, planning, development, and divestment projects
- Participate on JLL’s Social and Charity Committees

Here are the qualifications for students to be part of the Imran Jaffer Foundation Summer Internship Program at JLL:
- Enrolled full-time in year three (3)
- Business administration, urban development & planning, or geography program is required.
- academic average of at least 75%
- Have demonstrated some philanthropic work
- Returning to full-time studies (4.0 credits) following summer work term
A selection committee comprised of representatives from JLL, IJF and Western will determine the winning candidate.
Salary
2015 salaries – Four (4) month summer work term $11,566 (average) - salary range was from $10,000 to $13,000 for a four (4) month summer term (for third year students).
